The AI Coworker for AEC Firms

A third of engineering firms are turning down profitable work for lack of staff. [ACEC Survey ↗]

The field is also losing about 18,000 more engineers to retirement each year than it graduates to replace them. [ACEC Report ↗]

AI hasn’t fixed it: 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail. [MIT Study ↗]

Existing solutions are bolting AI onto old processes, shifting the bottleneck downstream, creating low-quality “AI slop” and hallucinations that need heavy revision.

We help AEC firms to become the 5% on AI.

Our team has helped enterprises firsthand, enabling 25% of the Fortune 500 to deploy autonomous agents in security & IT; now helping AEC teams advance critical public infrastructure. [Abnormal AI ↗]

Transformative AI means end-to-end coworkers, not siloed copilots.

The promise of AI has not delivered meaningful productivity improvements because traditional solutions are just bolting a chatbot onto existing tools and processes.

The Sinusoidal platform manages an unlimited team of specialized AI agents which drafts work on their own initiative and continuously improve by learning from your edits as feedback.

Our team partners with AEC firms to deploy this platform into their enterprise, pairing thoughtful process change management with technology to unlock step function gains in productivity.

SaaS tools are local generators. Sinusoidal builds you a power grid.

Coworkers that work where you already do.

Ask in Teams or the web app and review a finished draft saved where your team works. It acts under only your access.

One control plane to govern AI across the business.

Skills put your standards in plain English and learn from reviewer edits and evals, so each run needs less correction. IT sets the limits, and every run is costed.

Connects to your tools, not a new workspace.

Agents read your files where they live, with nothing to migrate, and operate the same tools your engineers do, from Revit to VISSIM to Bluebeam, coordinating one task across all of them.

FAQ

Platform & how it works

Why can't I just give 20 files of context into a Copilot / ChatGPT / Claude chat?

A single prompt, even one stuffed with 20 files of context, asks one model to deliver an entire outcome in one shot. There’s no checkpoint along the way to catch a wrong turn, test the result, or let a teammate weigh in before the next step starts.

Ask-and-wait: one message, whole outcome

Research→Plan→Act→Iterate

Each step is its own governed, evaluable skill: a checkpoint for automated QA and human review before the agent auto-starts the next task. Read the full breakdown ↗

What actually makes something an “agent,” rather than a chatbot with a longer prompt?

A chatbot needs a person to prompt it for every task, and whatever a person corrects in that chat disappears once the window closes. An agent starts the next task on its own once a trigger fires, carries corrections forward into the process it runs so the next pass needs fewer fixes, and lets one step’s output trigger the next without someone deciding each time. The Sinusoidal platform is built the second way.

Where does Sinusoidal actually run, and are we locked into one AI model?

There’s no single default: the platform is model-agnostic and runs as a managed service in our AWS environment, or inside your own AWS, Azure, or GCP tenancy, built to your compliance requirements. Because routing is vendor-agnostic, switching model providers later doesn’t mean rebuilding your governance from scratch.

How do you keep autonomous agent actions secure, scoped, and auditable?

When an agent acts on a person’s behalf, it acts with that person’s own access, scoped down to only what they can reach, never more. When it acts on its own initiative (a schedule or trigger set up in advance), it runs under its own IT-provisioned account, sized to the job, so every action traces back to who authorized it.

What tools does Sinusoidal actually connect to in our existing stack?

The Sinusoidal platform connects to real, named tools your team already runs: Excel, Word, Outlook/Teams, and SharePoint, plus simulation and modeling tools (Revit, VISSIM, Emme), artifact rendering (GIS, Bluebeam, Lumion), and project management (ACC, Procore, Smartsheet). Agents operate these directly, coordinating a task end-to-end across all of them rather than living in one silo.

How does Sinusoidal get better over time instead of repeating the same mistakes?

The Sinusoidal platform drafts first, then compares what a reviewer changes against that draft. That comparison surfaces judgment calls a person applies automatically but has never written down as a rule, and feeding it back into the skill means the next draft already reflects it. Evals check output against a standard before a person sees it, and cost and frequency get tracked and reported up, so review time keeps dropping instead of holding steady.

Isn't this the same as the AI features Autodesk, Bentley, and our other SaaS tools are already building in?

No — those live one level below us. A vendor’s AI feature, however capable, is still confined to that one tool’s silo: Autodesk’s can only act inside Autodesk, Bentley’s only inside Bentley. The Sinusoidal platform sits a layer above your whole stack instead, connecting to each tool directly via API and MCP connectors so one agent coordinates a task end-to-end across all of them — the same way a coworker moves between tools to get a job done. Because we operate one level up rather than competing with any single tool, you keep every tool you already run, and there’s no new interface for your team to learn.

Trust, data & compliance

Are you training your own models on our data and work?

Never. Full stop. We don’t train internal or open-source models on client work, and you can run any compliant model of your choice inside your own AWS, Azure, or GCP environment to guarantee it.

For a managed service approach, we’re happy to work with you during pilot and implementation to ensure everything complies with the standards you require, such as SOC 2, and your data never leaks across clients.

Always yours, and we never train on it:

Your skills & procedures
Your past work & data
End deliverables made with our tools

Do we give up control of our firm's processes and IP by using this?

No. The Sinusoidal platform runs the infrastructure every firm would otherwise have to build itself: model routing, cost reporting, the execution environment, and version-controlled skills with audit and evaluation built in. You keep everything that makes your work distinctly yours, including your skills, your context, and your data, and we don’t need to see inside your skills to run them.

Is this compliant with our security requirements (SOC 2, data residency, etc.)?

For a managed service approach, we’re happy to work with you during pilot and implementation to ensure everything complies with the standards you require, such as SOC 2, with no data leakage across clients. If your requirements call for it, the same platform runs inside your own AWS, Azure, or GCP tenancy instead, model-agnostic either way and built to your compliance requirements.

What does this look like for a BIM/VDC team specifically?

The Sinusoidal platform drafts first-pass models, flags coordination conflicts automatically before review, and compiles cost and value-engineering options the moment a project runs over budget, across Design, Model, Coordinate, Document, and Estimate. Because a first draft costs your team almost no time to produce, staff can check more design options against real constraints before committing, not just move faster through the option they already picked.

See the full Architecture & Design solution ↗

How does Sinusoidal help with traffic modeling and roadway design?

The Sinusoidal platform runs the geometry from your firm’s own design criteria, self-iterates on capacity and safety feedback, and checks each option against AASHTO tables, the Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and FHWA’s IHSDM modules. Because each pass costs almost no engineering time, your team can run far more options through those same checks than by hand, catching problems before they reach a human reviewer.

Can Sinusoidal help us win more proposals and RFPs?

The Sinusoidal platform surfaces opportunities early, drafts first-pass materials from your firm’s own strategy, and remembers every debrief so the next bid starts from what worked on the last one. Trusting it to draft reliably frees senior staff from assembling proposals to spend more time on the client relationships and win strategy that need their judgment.

Partnership & engagement

How does a pilot actually work, step by step?

Three phases: a no-cost 1–2 week Discovery & Scoping sprint (stakeholder interviews and one high-ROI pilot scoped with real metrics; you can walk away here with no obligation); a 4–10 week Pilot Implementation with regular checkpoints and working demos; and a 1–2 week Launch & Measurement rollout to your full cohort, measured against those same metrics.

See how we partner ↗

What do we need to commit internally to run a pilot?

An executive sponsor, an operational partner who commits real time each week and reviews work at every checkpoint, and a pilot cohort of early adopters who use the solution in real work. We’re a humble extension of your team for that window, not another vendor pitching a SaaS tool.

How do you measure whether a pilot actually worked?

Three tiers, tracked from day one: leading indicators (weekly active users, adoption trend, output quality), medium-term behavior change (time saved, more output per person, better-reported quality), and lagging results (real movement on revenue, margin, or the KPIs your executive sponsor already tracks).

Are we locked into a long contract after the pilot ends?

No. The pilot ends at a decision point: you get a working pilot delivered to your full cohort, results measured against the metrics set in discovery, and a deck of next steps. You then decide whether to move to a formal contract, and nothing before that point commits you to one.

What does this cost?

We don’t publish a flat rate: the engagement is scoped to your firm’s own priority, not sold off a price sheet. Discovery itself is free, and the pilot’s scope and cost are set together with your team before anything is built.

General enterprise concerns

Isn't this what our Copilot/Claude rollout already does?

That’s real progress, but it’s decentralized transformation: a few hundred personal shortcuts don’t add up to a change in how an entire project moves, because usage alone doesn’t compound. That takes a centralized effort: one process redesigned end-to-end, with the standard codified into a governed, reusable skill instead of sitting in someone’s chat history.

See the full playbook ↗

Won't this replace our engineers?

No stage removes the human from the judgment call: it only removes the mechanical work that used to sit in front of it. Across every solution the same pattern holds: architect of project still sets every constraint, principal still makes the go/no-go call, team still presents live. Your best people spend more time on the calls that need them, not fewer of them employed.
